Terms of Service
These Terms govern your use of Switchboard. By installing or using the App, you agree to the rules below, including how shared boards work and when inactive boards may be removed.
1. Agreement Scope
These Terms are a legal agreement between you and the Switchboard app developer ("we", "us"), not Apple. Switchboard provides shared boards with groups, sections, switches, and board-level actions such as sound and haptic triggers.
2. Eligibility and Platform Terms
You must comply with applicable law and the terms of the platforms you use, including Apple App Store and device usage rules where relevant. These Terms supplement those platform terms.
3. License Grant and Restrictions
We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable license to use the App for lawful purposes on devices you own or control, subject to these Terms and applicable platform rules.
- Do not reverse engineer, decompile, or modify the App except where law permits.
- Do not use the App to violate law, third-party rights, or platform rules.
- Do not attempt to interfere with the service, backend, or other users' board access.
4. Shared Access and Join Codes
Switchboard uses a six-digit frequency so people can join the same board. Boards may also require a six-digit passcode. You are responsible for deciding who receives those codes. Anyone who joins successfully can see and interact with the shared board state made available to that board.
5. Board Content and User Responsibility
You are responsible for the titles, notes, labels, colors, and switch states you create or share through Switchboard. You should not place unlawful, infringing, or sensitive information into board content unless you are comfortable with every joined participant seeing it.
6. Inactivity Deletion
Switchboard includes automatic cleanup for inactive boards. Based on the current service settings, a board may be deleted if it has not been edited for 30 days and has not been viewed for 7 days. This is intended to remove abandoned boards from the shared service.
7. Service Availability and Apple Device Behavior
Switchboard depends on device connectivity, backend availability, and Apple platform behavior, including WatchConnectivity and system audio or haptic services where applicable. Those services may change or be unavailable due to network, platform, region, or device conditions.
8. Maintenance and Support
To the extent required by law, we are responsible for App maintenance and support. Apple has no obligation to provide maintenance or support for Switchboard.
9. Intellectual Property
The App, service, branding, and content supplied by us are protected by intellectual property laws. Except for your limited license under these Terms, all rights are reserved.
10. Warranty Disclaimer
The App and related service are provided "as is" and "as available" to the maximum extent permitted by law. We disclaim warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, non-infringement, reliability, and uninterrupted availability.
11. Limitation of Liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost data, lost access, or losses resulting from service interruption, unauthorized code sharing, or inactive board deletion.
12. Termination
We may suspend or terminate your access if you violate these Terms. You may stop using the App at any time by leaving boards and uninstalling the App.
13. Apple Third-Party Beneficiary
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these Terms and may enforce these Terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
14. Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date on this page.
